Variety: Malbec
Region: Patagonia
Country: Argentina
Year: non-vintage
Price: $7.95
Shop Review: Stout and dense from the beginning,
with blackberry and violet aromas. Despite being a bold and dark Malbec, this
is fresh and composed, with sweet blackberry and cassis flavors. Good on the
finish, with candied fruit and caramel sweetness (Vintage Cellar).
Personal
Review: The Ruta 22 Malbec had a very intense nose, however, it was very hard
to pick out specific notes. I’m not sure if it was because it had complex
aromas, or if my nose was permanently scarred from previously smelling the
Chateau Serres Sainte Lucie Corbieres. There was berry on the palate the entire
way through. It had a very smooth finish, but was very dry. In my opinion, it
was an overall average wine.
