Tasting - Caprice de Bastor-Lamontagne

Name: Caprice de Bastor-Lamontagne
Variety: 60% Semillon, 36% Sauvignon Blanc, 4% Muscadelle
Region: Sauternes
Country: France
Year: 2004
Price: $7.95

Shop Review: Very clean, with lemon, mineral and honey aromas that follow through to a medium body. Shows vanilla, apple and melon flavors with a medium finish. Lightly sweet (Vintage Cellar).

Personal Review: The Caprice de Bastor-Lamontagne had an extremely citrusy and refreshing nose that reminded me of cleaning supplies. However, I can't emphasis enough how sweet it was on the palate. While Vintage Cellar described this as being "lightly sweet," I can confindently say this is one of the sweetest wines I have ever tasted. There was also a lot of honey on the palate that made the wine taste like a honey Ricola cough drop. It was so sweet that I can not imagine myself drinking this again.
