Tasting - Cortenova Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

Name: Cortenova Montepulciano d'Abruzzo
Variety: 100% Montepulciano d'Abruzzo
Region: Abruzzo
Country: Italy
Year: 2010
Price: $6.95

Shop Review: Deep ruby red color with violet highlights and a pleasant and fruity bouquet. Full bodied, soft tannins and good acidity. Excellent with pasta dishes and red meats (Vintage Cellar).

My Review: The Cortenova Montepulciano d'Abruzzo had an extremely appealing nose. It smelled like vanilla and dark cherries. Drinking it was an equally pleasing experience. I felt as though I was drinking silk. It again had hints of dark cherries and berries. It had soft tannins and low acidity, and was an overall really well-balanced wine. This wine has been added to my list of favorite wines.
